Diving Into Repurposed Materials
Repurposing is a new concept to most of the world. May people have not embraced the idea yet, but it is something that we should incorporate into the processes of our work and businesses. Repurposing is the process of taking one product and without changing all of the way we turn it around to be used for a completely different purpose. A great example of this is high school bleachers. You can turn them into shelves in clothing store after they have been polished. You can turn the pieces of an old basketball court into a new floor but with new patterns or designs. You can also use old hoses in a unique way. You can use them for dock bumpers for boats. Old conveyor belts can be used as for walls of barns so that animals don’t hurt themselves. The rubber from the conveyor belt also be used for landscaping portable roads for machines. You can place the rubber in front of tires of the equipment and the machine will drive over it instead of on the grass. You can use the advertising vinyl from old billboards as compost covering. Pool covers have the similar covering which can be used to shade for plants in nurseries or you can use it to shade yourself. The cables that you use when ski can be used artistic flair in a house or building or they can be use as handrails. Even items that you would not think of using can be broken down and used for something else down the road. Things like sugar can be repurposed. It can be dissolved into water to create sugar water for bees. Chemical materials such as mineral oil can be used for fly repellent to rub on animals. The big thing about repurposed materials is that they are being used in place of new products and they are a lot more affordable. By people spending money on repurposed materials instead of buying new items you can save yourself a lot of money. Not only are you saving yourself money, but you are also helping out the environment as well. The repurposing process involves a lot of ingenuity, but it makes it such a successful idea. So by applying repurposing to your work, your business can become even more successful.
