Deal Provides Wider Access to Methane Flaring Solution
In Irvine, California Ener-Core Inc. announced that it was entered into a global licensing agreement with the Dresser-Rand Company to develop a gas turbine coupled with a gradual oxidizer. Dresser-Rand is one of the largest suppliers of rotating equipment to the oil, gas, and process industries. This is an important step in capturing $65 billion waste gas to power opportunity. It will scale up its power generation technology. Most industries flare their waste gases, but after this they will not have to anymore. They will be able to use the waste gases and use them productively. This will be a help on the environment because it will cut down on the emissions of waste gases that go into the atmosphere. Using the oxidizer will reduce the harmful emissions in the air and make clean energy from waste gases for industries. Ener-Core’s is going to allow other industries to utilize their waste gases giving them clean energy. This agreement gives the Dresser-Rand company rights to commercialize this product. The Dresser-Rand company will pay $1.6 million in licensing fees to start and give them more annually in sales. They are seeing there costumers as coal mines, oil and gas refineries, oil and gas drilling sites, distilleries, food processing plants, and landfills. They are estimating the wasted methane currently into the air can be used for better use by generating 65,000 MW of clean energy each year. This amount of clean energy is enough to power 65 million to 80 million homes over a year. Dresser-Rand and Ener-Core building this gas turbine will allow for a lower amount of methane emissions in the air and allow people to have a new way for clean energy to be made for using in there industries or homes.
